I have been living with my husband in our HDB flat in Ang Mo Kio for three years. We share everything , bills, meals, even Netflix passwords.
One evening I was looking for a spare charger and opened the kitchen drawer. A slim notebook fell out, tucked between the cutlery.
It was a travel log, dated from last month, with entries about a weekend trip to Penang, a beach resort, and a hotel reservation under a different name.
I showed it to him and he laughed it off, saying it was a surprise trip for his sister and he forgot to tell me.
A few days later I checked our bank app because the rent was due. I saw a S$2,000 transfer to an account I didn’t recognize, labelled "Trip expenses".
My heart raced. I asked him about the transfer and he said it was a loan to a friend who needed help.
The next morning I found a receipt for a new lease agreement for a one bedroom unit in Jurong, dated the same week.
He claimed it was a backup plan in case his job at the factory got cut, but we both know his position is secure.
I feel trapped between believing his excuses and the mounting evidence. The travel log, the secret transfer, and now a hidden lease , it all points to him planning a life apart from me.
I have already spoken to my sister, but I’m scared of what the next step might bring.
Should I confront him now with everything I found, or wait until I have more proof before making a move
What would you do if your partner hid something this important from you?
